Words to Keep in Your Pocket

Ask any writer what their favorite word is, and I can guarantee you they will construct some quizzical word that has 7 syllables and is not in the standard English dictionary. The  reason for this is purely because large words can titillate the tongue of an author; the words roll off the lips and they sound incredibly fancy. But my god is it annoying when they rattle off a cacophony of preposterous and ostentatious letters just to sound 'mature' (yes that was purposely put together. Calm down.)

So if you want to be like these writers who seem to find some kind of revelation in defining a huge vocabulary, then I have just the list for you. Presenting, a list of words to keep in your pocket to-use-at-innapropriate-yet-classy-as-hell-times:

#1. Quiescent - a quiet, soft-spoken soul.
#2. Chimerical - merely imaginary; fanciful.
#3. Susurrus - a whispering or rustling sound.
#4. Raconteur - one who excels in story-telling.
#5. Clinquant - glittering; tinsel-like.
#6. Aubade - a song greeting the dawn.
#7. Ephemeral - lasting a very short time.
